Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) high schools ranked by U.S. News and World Report as top-performing in America.

Corona del Mar High School ranked in the top five percent of all schools nationwide, placing #138 out of the more than 3,000 public high schools in California, and #956 nationally out of approximately 24,000 public high schools in the nation. Only a dozen Orange County high schools placed within the top 1,000 nationwide. Costa Mesa High School, Early College High School, Estancia High School, and Newport Harbor High School also ranked in the top 25 percent of schools nationwide.

“We are thrilled that our schools get recognized for the great work they do in preparing students for success,” said Superintendent Russell Lee-Sung.

The annual list published by U.S. News and World Report looks at public high schools throughout the United States to select the best schools based on student participation in college-level exams, achievement on math and reading assessments, the performance rates of underserved populations, and graduation rates.

NMUSD schools serve approximately 18,000 students and offer a wide range of academic and extracurricular programs, such as innovative and specialized programs, visual and performing arts programs, and competitive athletic programs.
