ELAC

English Learner Advisory Committee

Schools with 21 or more English Learners are required to establish an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).  The parents who participate in ELAC become informed about the district’s programs and services for English Learners and the school’s plan for student achievement.  The goal is for parents to provide their support and recommendations to the principal and school staff for the continued improvement in academic outcomes for students. ELAC meetings are open to the public and all parents are encouraged to attend.

California School parent representatives attend the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) and provide the school site with important district-wide information.
