Principal's Message

Dear Davis Families,


Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are excited to welcome both new and returning families to Davis Magnet School, where we proudly serve over 600 students from preschool through sixth grade. Representing families from across the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, our school community is united by a shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and character development.

As a high-performing magnet school, Davis offers a dynamic and enriching learning environment with a strong focus on Math, Engineering, Science, and Technology. Our dedicated teachers create engaging, hands-on experiences that challenge students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and discover their fullest potential. We are proud that Davis is consistently recognized as one of the top elementary schools in both Newport-Mesa and Orange County—a reflection of the daily dedication of our exceptional staff.

Students in grades 3–6 benefit from a 1:1 Chromebook program, while our state-of-the-art Robotics Lab supports our award-winning Roboduck Robotics Team in preparing for regional competitions. These tools make learning come alive and encourage creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.

Beyond the classroom, we offer a rich variety of enrichment programs. From Band, Choir, and Advanced Band to student-led groups like Eco Club and PAL (Peer Assistance Leadership), students have numerous opportunities to explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and give back to their community. Our commitment to developing the whole child is guided by five core values:

These values are the foundation of a respectful, kind, and responsible school culture where students are encouraged to grow both academically and personally.

We deeply value our strong partnerships with families. Parent involvement is essential to our success, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our PTA and the Davis Magnet School Education Foundation. Their contributions fund impactful programs, events, and resources that enhance student learning and build community. Signature events like Quack to School, Big Bucks for Ducks, and our annual Spring Gala bring us together to celebrate and support our shared mission.

Our theme for this year, Greatness Takes Flight, reflects our vision of empowering students to soar through a STEM-focused education grounded in innovation, excellence, and heart.
