Applying to Davis

Are you interested in becoming a part of the Davis Magnet School Family?

Davis Magnet School is a math, science, and technology magnet school located in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. We are not your typical neighborhood school. We serve students from all across the district. We focus on providing our students with hands-on learning opportunities with a particular emphasis on math, science, and technology while teaching all of the California Content Standards.

Below are some helpful details as to how students are admitted to Davis.

  • Davis enrollment is awarded through a computerized lottery process administered by the District office. 
  • The application window to apply for the 2024-25 school year will begin on February 9th at 3:00 pm to March 15th at 11:55 pm. 
  • The application must be submitted prior to the deadline, there are NO exceptions.
  • You will need to create a School Mint parent account to be able to fill out the Davis Magnet School application.The application must be submitted before the deadline; there are NO exceptions. 
  • The lottery is typically scheduled in early March for the following school year. Parents will receive an email on April 5th, 2024, notifying them if their child was accepted to Davis or if a waitlist number has been assigned.
  • Siblings of currently enrolled students in Grades K-5 have priority in the lottery but must apply during the application window.
  • Current Davis Preschool students must apply. There is no guarantee or priority given to current Davis Preschool students.
