Reflections 2014-15: The World Would Be A Better Place If....

Time for our Davis artists to shine! This year's PTA Reflections contest asks students to express how the world would be a better place through dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition and visual arts.

Fruit and Veggie Cart: Now on Wednesday! Volunteers Needed!

Davis Magnet PTA proudly announces the return of the fruit and vegetable cart and it’s on a new day! Every Wednesday, the cart will be available during lunch time.  The fruit and veggie cart is free for kids if they buy lunch.  However, the cost is just $1 for kids who bring their lunch and can be paid for with cash or a lunch card. 

Kids will be offered a variety of different fruits and vegetables. It is a great way for them to eat what they like and try new things, too! 

We are very excited about this healthy and delicious offering for our kids at Davis Magnet and hope to see them every Wednesday!

Adult volunteers are needed to oversee cart service.  The cart is available for the first time this year on Wednesday, September 10th 2014.   It is easy and fun volunteer work with fellow parents.  We are hopeful that we have enough volunteers so that each parent will need to serve just once a month.

We've Gone Green-er!

Last year, Davis Magnet School went “Green-er.”  By doing so, we saved thousands of pieces of paper by only sending flyers home with a family’s oldest child (for those families with multiple students) or a family’s only child at our school.  This program will continue this year and will begin the second week of school.  This program saves trees, time, and keeps everyone informed about our school events and programs!

BIG BUCKS FOR DUCKS!!!

Big Bucks for Ducks 2013-2014 Davis Magnet School Support Drive 450
Last year, the Big Bucks for Ducks (BBFD) program raised over $45,000!!! Over 51% of that Davis community contributed towards this fundraiser and more than 99% of every dollar raised went directly back to the school. The Big Bucks for Ducks program has paid for 84 iPads, a THIRD computer lab, an e-book library, music supplies and much more.  As with past years, the BBFD program seeks a $200 tax-deductible, voluntary contribution from each Davis student to enhance student education at Davis Magnet School. We are proud of this program and the commitment of Davis families to support Davis students and staff in their mission to learn. Our goal is %100 school participation.

Welcome to a New School Year!

Davis Magnet PTA welcomes you and your family to a new and exciting school year. Our mission is for Davis parents and teachers to work together to promote and support learning for all students every day. Davis Magnet PTA proudly provides enriching and enjoyable programs during this school year, including Reflections, Art Masters, Jiji Math, Red Ribbon Week, Walk Throughs and Spelling City.  

Besides supporting math, science, and technology at our school, the PTA also supports our wonderful school library and the music program that benefit our children’s education. And, of course, we will be having several fun family events such as dinner with a movie night, a Halloween event, roller and ice skating nights, and more!

Important and fun PTA information will be coming home the first week of school. We look forward to another fantastic year. Please contact us with any questions, ideas or suggestions you may have.

Grow with us...Join the PTA!!

Davis PTA invites you to join the PTA and “GROW WITH US”!  The PTA contributes to the growth of our school and children by providing enrichment opportunities (assemblies, field trips, Art Masters), teacher resources (teacher supplies), supporting our school’s technology resources (iPads, laptops), and by growing our school community through fun family activities and parent nights, among many other things!  Membership also ensures parent and teacher voices are heard locally and statewide. 

The PTA ultimately supports your child’s growth! PTA memberships cost $5 for students and $10 for parents or any other adult who would like to support our school (don’t forget to ask grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends).  Plus, a PTA membership includes perks like discounts through various businesses including, Legoland, Staples, Aquarium of the Pacific and more!  Our goal is 100% participation.  We had over 900 PTA members last year!!!

Join the PTA today and be a part of our GROWTH!  The upper-grade class and lower-grade class that produce the most growth (highest percentage of members per class) by September 26th will win a Popsicle and Playdate Party in the Park with Mrs. Flores.

  • Increase (paperless!) communication among parents, teachers and administration
  • Encourage all families to become PTA members and volunteers
  • Advocate for children in legislation and art
  • Present Walk Through History programs for the grades 4-6
  • Provide ArtMasters lessons and materials three times yearly for all grades
  • Fund field trips for all grades
