Davis Magnet School Daily Schedule

M, T, Th, F: School starts at 8:15am and students are dismissed at 3:00pm.

W: School starts at 8:15am and students are dismissed at 1:20pm for teacher professional development meetings.

If you pick your child up at the front of the school, please place a sign in the front window of your car with your child's name.  This will help the teachers on "valet duty" expedite the pick-up process.  Please pull as far forward as possible to allow many cars to load at once.  Thank you.

Mrs. E. Ramos

Welcome to Room 8!

I am thrilled to begin my 9th year here and am looking forward to continuing to build a strong community at Davis Magnet School.  I have been working closely with the 4th grade team to plan an exciting and challenging curriculum for the upcoming year.

I’d like to introduce myself to you.  This is my fifteenth year teaching in Newport Mesa USD.  I have experience teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, including combination classes.  For three years I was a Science Specialist teaching hands-on lessons to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.  I graduated from Western Washington University with a B.S. in Environmental Science.  I earned both my Teaching Credential and Masters in Teaching from Chapman University.  I also have a Single Subject Credential in Earth Science.  I have earned certificates for Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) from both NMUSD and CSU Fullerton.

This year will be full of exciting learning opportunities.  The class will be able to use Chromebooks every day. We will use them to research, complete assignments, and create projects. We also have a set of iPads that will be used to access apps for skills practice and creativity. I know the students will enjoy learning how to use the technology and using the technology to learn.

Communication among the teacher, family, and student is extremely important.  Do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions or concerns.  Please remember that before and after school hours are the best times to communicate effectively.  You can contact me by:

  1. E-mail emramos@nmusd.us
  2. Write me a note
  3. School phone 714-424-7930

I look forward to getting to know all of you.  It should be a great year!
